I'm Jamie H., the breeder behind Home Grown Chihuahuas From Iowa located in Harlan, IA. We are pet owners first and foremost. All of our puppies are raised as members of our family until they’re ready to join yours. We do our best to breed with total care by primarily focusing on raising healthy, affectionate, and loyal companions. As a result of our efforts, we’re positive our puppies will become perfect family members and add just as much joy to your life as they have ours! We do litter box training! I’ve learned out of many new owners. The most frustrating thing about having a new puppy is potty training our puppies when they go home at 8 to 10 weeks are room trained to litter box. This is a wonderful concept that I learned years ago, it helps our new owners as most people work and have a job. It’s very hard to leave your puppy at home with this litter box concept you are able to leave your puppy not confined in a small kennel but in a room it’s very helpful please ask for more information.   • What makes your program special?

    Raising puppies is a joyous experience. I love to watch their characteristics evolve. My mamas and daddies are very social and sweet. I've chosen them for their charm and personality, then physical confirmation second. The puppies are raised to work with any type of home. We socialize daily with children (8 grandchildren) all ages and dogs. We also use a litter box to room training at 8 weeks program. Please ask for references. I've learned over the years that house training is the most frustrating subject with new puppies. With our program, you don't have to get up every 2 hrs. at night to let your puppy out. Please feel free to ask questions. This is a family group that consists of my sister & my mother in law.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream and white, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, black and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and guardian homes.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $4,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Jamie was so wonderful to work with. She responded very quickly to all messages and was amazing at giving weekly updates and pictures (even a super cute video) on our puppy! You can tell she really loves the dogs she raises and you can see that in our Bella. The process was extremely easy with her answering every question along the way since we have never owned a chihuahua before. We cannot reccomend Good Dog and Jamie enough and I know exactly who we will be coming to when we are ready to add to our family!

    Jamie is hands down the best breeder I have ever worked with, and this was our fourth puppy! From the very beginning, her communication was exceptional. She was always quick to respond to my many questions, kept us updated every week, and made us feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. It was immediately clear how much Jamie genuinely loves what she does and, most importantly, how much she loves and cares for her puppies. She was also incredibly accommodating when it came to arranging our pickup, which made the whole experience so easy. And our puppy is absolutely amazing! She came home already sleeping through the night, doing wonderfully with potty training, and incredibly well-socialized. She is sweet, confident, and has been fantastic with our young kids and our other dogs. You can truly see the time, love, and care Jaimie puts into raising her puppies.     Jamie was great to work with and made the process of finding the new addition to our family very smooth! She had great communication and was very knowledgeable with the breed. Once we had selected our puppy, she updated us with pictures every week so we could see his growth.     Working with Jamie was wonderful! I really enjoyed the updates with photos and videos of our puppy as he grew, and we’re so pleased with our little guy now that he’s home! He has such a silly, playful personality, and everyone who meets him falls in love with his sweet face immediately. The litter box training has been a total game-changer, too.
