I'm Jamie H., the breeder behind Home Grown Chihuahuas From Iowa located in Harlan, IA. We are pet owners first and foremost. All of our puppies are raised as members of our family until they’re ready to join yours. We do our best to breed with total care by primarily focusing on raising healthy, affectionate, and loyal companions. As a result of our efforts, we’re positive our puppies will become perfect family members and add just as much joy to your life as they have ours! We do litter box training! I’ve learned out of many new owners. The most frustrating thing about having a new puppy is potty training our puppies when they go home at 8 to 10 weeks are room trained to litter box. This is a wonderful concept that I learned years ago, it helps our new owners as most people work and have a job. It’s very hard to leave your puppy at home with this litter box concept you are able to leave your puppy not confined in a small kennel but in a room it’s very helpful please ask for more information. What makes your program special?
Raising puppies is a joyous experience. I love to watch their characteristics evolve. My mamas and daddies are very social and sweet. I've chosen them for their charm and personality, then physical confirmation second. The puppies are raised to work with any type of home. We socialize daily with children (8 grandchildren) all ages and dogs. We also use a litter box to room training at 8 weeks program. Please ask for references. I've learned over the years that house training is the most frustrating subject with new puppies. With our program, you don't have to get up every 2 hrs. at night to let your puppy out. Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and white, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, black and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

+5My experience with home grown Chihuahuas was absolutely fantastic. Jamie was a delight, and she went through the ins and outs of having a Chihuahua and raising them. Thankfully, I had quite a bit of experience with Chihuahuas so we were able to agree on a lot and I got to bring home my baby Violet, who is just an amazing puppy. I would definitely recommend from getting from here. The dogs are very well socialized and don’t have a lot of fears in my experience. That’s really great for this breed because they’re so tiny. If you’re going to purchase from someone, I would definitely purchase from Jamie. If I ever get another one, I will come back.
