I'm Jakob A H., the breeder behind Hop-Ayr Farms located in Stafford, VA. Hop-Ayr Farms is a micro-farm that nurtures and raises produce, Boer goats, English Orpingtons, and of course, Great Pyrenees! My dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. My ultimate goal is to well-structured canines that can excel as livestock guardian dogs and have the ability to be the greatest family companions.

Why did you start breeding?
When I started micro-farming, I started with imported English Orpingtons and Boer goats, but I had problems with foxes and with human thefts of my goats. To help me with the challenges, I added Pyrs. Our Pyrenees adults roam in and out of the house and jointly work with me to keep my Boer goats and English Orpingtons safe.What makes your program special?
I won't have many pups; because I only keep one breeding pair, and I will have many years without a litter. But my adults have a purpose every day. They are an integral part of my family and daily life. This creates the ideal environment for puppies. From birth, they grow in a secure, loving environment where they know that they matter to their family - that they have a purpose.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
