I'm Karin C., the breeder behind Hotwired GSPs located in Wheatfield, IN. Our puppies are family raised and are bred for correct conformation per the breed standard, superior trainability with a strong hunting desire. Our puppies are suitable for show, field, agility obedience with a priority being a family member.

    We are also the home of "Diesel" also know as BISS AM GRCH/Can CH Hotwired's Jager He's Da Bomb. He is Multiple Group Winning, Multiple Group Placing, Multiple Best in Specialty Show Winning and Record Holding. His boasts now include: record holder, American GCH, Canadian CH, top 10 finishing (2008) top 15 finishing (2007) AOM, Multiple BISS including the Big Apple Sporting dog Specialty, Westminster Weekend, and now add proven producer. Diesel’s son Dawson Am/Can CH LegacyK Hotwired Analyze This has achieved his Master Hunting title and won Best in Futurity at the 2009 GSPCA National Specialty.

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Karin

Karin has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All of our puppies are priced the same. The price includes AKC registration and Microchip. First shots, deworming, health certificate from the vet as well as first heartworm preventative. The deposit holds a place for a puppy. I can't guarantee color or gender. I do my best to place the correct dog with the correct home. If I can't accommodate your requests, the deposit can carry over to another litter.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Excellent level

Hotwired GSPs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for German Shorthaired Pointers.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Brucellosis

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Cone Degeneration, German Shorthaired Pointer Type, Cone Degeneration

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
