I'm Renee M., the breeder behind Icon Rat Terriers located in Meeker, OK. My goal is to breed traditional rat terriers that are known as loyal pets that love their family. working farm dogs, great hunters and awesome performance competitors. Our dogs have excelled in the conformation ring earning AKC and UKC Grand Championships. In my breeding program I focus on breed type, health, and temperament.

Why did you start breeding?
I got my first rat terrier Tubby when I was 11 months for Christmas. He was my best friend, I have had one ever since. When it got difficult to find rat terriers, my husband and I decided to start breeding them in 1986.What makes your program special?
I believe in going above and beyond in socializing my puppies, puppies are born and raised in my home. I also encourage and help my puppy owners get involved in the breed.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Renee

Price
"UKC registered puppies $800. Pet puppies come with AKC limited registration $ 1,300. Show prospect/ breeding puppies AKC unlimited registration $1,800. . If you put down a deposit and it turns out you can not take a puppy from that litter. I’ll gladly mover your deposit to another litter. Puppies have a one year warranty. If you can no longer keep your dog please contact me for help with rehoming or returning your dog."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
