Imperial Topaz Silkens

(Mr.) Grell R.

Breeder of Silken Windhounds

Meet the breeder

I'm (Mr.) Grell R., the breeder behind Imperial Topaz Silkens located in Westons Mills, NY. My program is to help better the breed while giving great companions for a loving home. These dogs are known for their friendly dispositions, make excellent family pets, and are happiest when sharing family activities. They are easily trainable and eager to please. They require little grooming and are naturally clean and tidy.

Q. & A. with (Mr.) Grell

  • Why did you start breeding?

It began with the love of my breed and growing into the knowledge of its specialty. I was first introduced to Silken Windhounds in 2018 at an UKC show event in Iowa. They were exactly what I was looking for and with the help of mentors, I started my program in 2021.
  • What makes your program special?

I adhere to the breed standard while focusing on giving good companions using the Puppy Culture and Avidog systems to help provide solid dogs. I do temperament testing at 8 weeks old to help match the puppies to their right home. I am a very small kennel and give one-on-one attention to all my dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
