I'm Carla F., the breeder behind Indian Valley Kennels located in Glade Hill, VA. I have strived to offer healthy, well-balanced family companions that offer a lifetime of joy for their families. All our puppies are handled daily and have outdoor playtime in a safe area and get to interact with the other pack members.
Q. & A. with Carla
Why did you start breeding?
I became interested in breeding after I purchased my first Native American Indian Dog, Zakai, because the breed was considered hypoallergenic. My son had been showing signs of sensitivity to dogs so wanted to have a dog that wouldn't cause him issues. When the breed didn't I wanted to share them with the world. We are now partnering with the NAID Preservation Project.
What makes your program special?
Since 2007, I have been breeding these wonderful dogs and feel I have learned a lot about them and about those looking to add one to their family. They are unique in many ways and I enjoy sharing that uniqueness with others. I work hard to produce stable, healthy pups that make great family companions. I have several that have gone on to be service dogs and I think that says a lot.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Zahra, mom
Native American Indian Dog
About Zahra
Zahra comes in a small powerful package. She's interested in everything and loves to be petted. She is an alpha female but does get along with a couple of my females. She's outgoing, friendly and active. She has great eye contact and isn't afraid of anything. She is stubborn and consistent. Her offspring could possibly make good service dog prospects.

Native American Indian Dog
About Yukon (aka Galen)
Galen is confident and sweet. Has great eye contact and enjoys being petted, brushed and loved on. He is very tolerant of new things and several of his offspring have become working service dogs. He's been a great addition to our breeding program. He is also helping with the NAID Preservation Project and helping maintain the growth of the NAID breed. He has MV's Hakata We, MV's Paahuma, MV's Tate and MV's Catori in his pedigree all of which were part of the foundation of the NAID breed.

Willow, mom
Siberian Husky
About Willow
Willow is petite, Agouti colored with a long coat. She is one of our foundation females brought in to help augment our gene pool. She has a very gentle nature and is very shy on first meet but warms up. She was purchased when she was an older puppy, so there has been concern that she may have been abused. She is a cuddle bug and will close her eyes when she is being petted.
