I'm Kelsey T., the breeder behind Intriga Hounds located in Santa Ana, CA. NOT CURRENTLY TAKING APPLICATIONS. No additional litters are planned until 2029. I prioritize my dogs as beloved pets first and foremost. I breed infrequently and with extensive planning.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    In 2019, I studded out my first silken to a genetic diversity project with two other wonderful breeders as mentors, Starfyre Silkens and Kadlec.
  • What makes your program special?

    I focus heavily on temperament and socialization. I start puppies on basic training before they go to their homes and prioritize early exposure to lots and lots of experiences.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Genetic Diversity Test, Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), Full Embark Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Optimal Selection Canine Genetic Breeding Analysis

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
