I'm Jaclyn G., the breeder behind J & R’s Elite German Shorthaired Pointers located in Dravosburg, PA. We’re hobby breeders looking for individuals and families that will continue to love and spoil our puppies as much as we do! It’s important to us that we continue to improve our program and share our knowledge with our buyer families. We want to better the breed through thorough health testing and selective breeding decisions.
Q. & A. with Jaclyn
Why did you start breeding?
Love of the breed, we are avid hunters and enjoy the outdoors. We want to better the breed Standards, we aim for healthy and exceptional temperaments when breeding and all of our puppies are raised in a home environment with children ranging from 24 months old to adults. Our puppies have been placed in Connecticut, Indiana, Maryland, Ohio, and Massachusetts.
What makes your program special?
We do all the work from start to finish. We devote our time and energy with each puppy from socialization with random daily activities, from kids to strangers, when picking out your new companion you can meet with Mom and Dad and view all the litter mates. I feel it’s a more personable environment for perspective owners, I’ve been to breeder homes and they only showed the puppy you had interest in and it just felt really weird. I want to see the parents and siblings and how they interact with each other.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver and white, black and white, liver roan, and black roan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
