Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer C., the breeder behind Jennifer Ceballos located in Seattle, WA. We are a Silken Windhound breeder that has been involved with this breed since 2007. We compete in Conformation with our Silken Windhounds. We have a Japanese Chin and Chinese Crested that live with our Silken Windhounds. Both of our breeds live together in harmony. We compete in Lure Coursing, Straight Racing, and Oval Racing with our Silken Windhounds. We also have a strong interest in therapy work. Our ideal temperament is a dog that has a temperament that can do therapy work. We believe in getting involved in activities that we know our dogs will love. We believe in completely socializing all of our dogs in different situations with people of all ages, different dog breeds, and our cats, so that our dogs will feel comfortable anywhere. We are completely devoted to our animals, as they bring us much love and joy. Any litters we will have will be carefully thought out and selected. We believe in health testing our dogs before considering breeding them. Conformation and personality are a big factor in considering who we will use in our breeding program, as we are breeding to better the breed. We believe in starting our dogs out with early stimulation by doing super puppy exercises with them and using early neurological toys. We also use Puppy Culture in raising our puppies. All of our puppies/dogs are microchipped, dewormed regularity, and up to date on shots. Being a responsible breeder is very important to us. Any dogs that we place in a home will always have a home with us, no matter how old the animal is. We will always be there for you and you will always have our support through your dog’s life. Please feel free to join our Facebook page for updates on our dogs and the events we are doing with our dogs. We do temperament testing at 7 weeks, conformation evaluations and a Veterinarian health check at 8 weeks. After we have the necessary information to make the proper home matches for our puppies we take deposits for reserving puppies at 8 weeks. We have a very long list of people looking to get a puppy from us, so it is imperative that the prospective puppy buyer reach out to us on the day the puppies are 8 weeks old to be considered for a home for one of our puppies. It is not first come, first serve with how we place our puppies, it is about making the best possible match for the home and the puppy. Making the effort to get to know us and visiting whenever it is possible, will really help us to feel most comfortable in placing a puppy in your home in the future.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding when I fell deeply in love with this unique and special breed. With this being such a rare and special breed, I felt compelled to be involved with them. I felt that I could make a positive impact on the breed to move them forward. I did a lot of research before jumping in. I took classes on whelping and raising litters. I showed my dogs all over the country. I did tons of research before deciding to get involved in the breeding aspect. It is not something I take lightly. My goal was to improve the breed. My passion for the breed has wanting to continue moving the breed forward in a positive direction to have a consistent type, correct conformation, A + temperaments, great health, beauty, and grace.
  • What makes your program special?

We put a lot of effort into our breeding program. We health test all of our dogs before breeding them. We choose the best examples of the breed for conformation, health, and temperament to move the breed forward. We raise our puppies with puppy culture. We believe in early neurological stimulation and raising our puppies with enrichment. We have visitors over on a regular basis to help us socialize our puppies, so they meet new people on a regular basis before they go home. We want our puppies to have the best foundation, so they can have the most success in their new homes. Our puppies are temperament tested at 7 weeks, have conformation evaluations at 8 weeks, and a vet exam at 8 weeks before we choose our homes. We spend a lot of time getting to know our puppy buyers so we can make sure we match them with the right dog to fit their home, lifestyle, as well as to match them with their current pets in their home. All of our puppies are microchipped, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines. We register all of our puppies with the ISWS and UKC for our owners. We give lifetime support and mentoring for our puppy buyers. We believe in supporting you for the life of your dog.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
