I'm Katherine H., the breeder behind Joyful Lagotti located in Lothian, MD.
Q. & A. with Katherine
Why did you start breeding?
I started with getting Trixie. I thought I might like to have a litter one day, so I needed to work toward her AKC CH title. She earned that quickly and then we started on nosework. She excelled at that. Her first litter, out of GCHB CH Horizon's All American (won over 338 dogs at Raduno in 2023) was born in 2021. I kept Abigail and Marcella and have loved and enjoyed them since.
What makes your program special?
I work on cutting edge health issues which keeps me apprised of the latest knowledge and testing available on health. I do the required health testing and more. All is listed, good and bad (a few missing teeth). I raise puppies to be brave, resilient and attentive to people.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white, off-white, orange, brown roan, and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
