Meet the breeder

I'm Tracey A., the breeder behind K2 RAT TERRIERS (COLORADO) located in Denver, CO. K2 Rat Terriers moved from our mountaintop in Golden Colorado and is now located on a sweet little 8 acre farm an hour northeast of Denver. We focus on health, temperament and intelligence.

Q. & A. with Tracey

  • Why did you start breeding?

My dad was a breeder of Golden Retrievers, my mom had a Scotty and I much preferred the terrier temperament. My house was not a home without a terrier in it, and I was hooked. My email is d2trk@msn.com
  • What makes your program special?

While our dogs have excelled in both confirmation and performance events, we focus on terriers that can be a happy, healthy part of any family. References are available upon request. My email is d2trk@msn.com
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include fawn white and tan, black and white, black white and tan, black tan and white, blue white and tan, red white and sable, white and apricot, white and black, white and blue, white and blue fawn, white and chocolate, white and fawn, white and lemon, white and red, white and tan, white black and tan, white, chocolate and tan, white, and white and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Tracey! This was my first time using Good Dog as well as working with a breeder, and she made the entire process so easy and reassuring. Tracey is extremely knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and offered helpful tips along the way. She even provided a starter bag with everything I needed for my dog's first week home—including a little blanket with his littermates’ scent to help with his transition. Being able to text her with questions as they came up was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend Tracey!

Good Dog is such a great site to find breeders and dogs of so many breeds. I was struggling to find rat terrier breeds but Good Dog has multiple breeders to choose from. I spoke to a few but Tracey from K2 Rat Terriers was the clear favorite for me. She was super knowledgeable about the breed and just general questions she was an ale to answer all my questions. She gave me so much helpful information. And our puppy when we got him was better than we could have imagined. He was already crate trained after 9 weeks and sleeping through the night without a peep. Tracey does an amazing job raising her puppies. I will not buy another dog from anyone else.
