I'm Kelly W., the breeder behind Kalan Kennel located in Oak Ridge, NC. We are dedicated to responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our pups. We love what we do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of our puppies shine! We typically have one litter per year, ensuring every puppy is hand-raised with lots of love.

Why did you start breeding?
We began showing Black and Tan Coonhounds in the 1990s. Our first coonhound, Nic, became one of the top winning dogs and we started our own breeding program. In 2016, we got our first Frenchie and quickly fell in love with their silly and sweet personalities. We began breeding Frenchies with a focus on good health in our puppies.What makes your program special?
We have a specific focus on health and good personalities with both of our breeds. For Black and Tan Coonhounds, we have specifically chosen dogs over many generations for traits desired in the breed standard and by us. Similarly, in French Bulldogs we pride ourselves in having good tempered, well-socialized dogs with good nostrils and better breathing.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our French Bulldog puppies include brindle, fawn, and brindle and white. Black and Tan Coonhound puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Maybelline
Maybelline was a fearless companion who was trying to escape her pen day one as a puppy. She can jump like a goat onto furniture, giving no notice and hopping effortlessly onto the couch. She also loves to be petted, and will lay on her back for hours if you give her belly rubs. She loves other dogs too and children, especially our granddaughter who matches her wild energy.

About Poe
Poe is a calm cuddly companion who is happy to sit on your lap and share your meals all day. He loves other dogs and usually waits for all of his canine companions to go outside with him. He has favorite toys that he keeps in his crate to make sure they stay in good condition!

Hip Dysplasia

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
