I'm Julie W., the breeder behind Karluk Acres Karakachans located in Kenai Peninsula Borough, AK. I produce pups that are proven working dogs. They are wonderful livestock protectors and smart, working partners and guardians for their families! My dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. I am proud to be breeding working dogs that can handle the daily tasks of farm life while also being the greatest family companions. I look forward to connecting you with your pup!

    I love my Karakachans! My dogs have brought me so much joy and have proven to be wonderful additions to my farm that I wanted to produce the highest quality dogs for others to enjoy. These pups thrive in their roles and will not disappoint!

    I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to. I like to be sure that each family is getting a puppy that best matches their needs and lifestyles. I am very dedicated to what I do and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity.

Getting a puppy from Julie

Julie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes a purebred, registered dog with the American Karakachan Dog Association. Microchipped, vet checked, first dewormings and vaccines. Deposit will be $500. It is non-refundable but can be transferred to a future litter if necessary.”

Julie may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Full Embark Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
