I'm Kathryn B., the breeder behind Khani's Basenjis and Italian Greyhounds located in Portland, OR. We emphasize superb temperaments, excellent health, and phenomenal companionship! We are dedicated to the future our breeds, where temperament, health, and type are rolled into some fabulous little critters that others are lucky enough to have as companions in their homes!
Q. & A. with Kathryn
Why did you start breeding?
All due to my late mother :-) She loved Basenjis and I still have them, as well as the incorporation of another breed, the Italian Greyhound, into my crew.
What makes your program special?
We place the greatest emphasis on temperament. It does not matter how healthy or pretty the dog is if it cannot be touched or handled. We strive to have well-rounded temperamentally sound, healthy, and beautiful Basenjis and Italian Greyhounds. As a preservation breeder, it is imperative that health testing be maintained in all of our dogs as well! Our dogs are beautiful loving family companions!!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Italian Greyhound puppies include white and blue, red fawn, seal, and blue. Basenji puppies include black and white, tri-color, red and white, and brindle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
