I'm Evelyn R., the breeder behind Kinvara Kennels located in Hammond, LA. Our breeding program plans each breeding by researching pedigrees of both sire and dam and strive to produce puppies with correct temperament and health.

Why did you start breeding?
I bred Shelties in my teens and 20’s. I had sold my horses due to a hip injury and animals have always been in my blood. I fell in love with chihuahuas and love showing them. My dream is to win big with a bred by at Westminster!What makes your program special?
Because we are small each breeding the puppies will get hands-on daily care. Socialization is a big part of raising nice Chihuahuas. Temperament is a top priority here. Puppies do not leave until they have had their second set of shots and are eating well on their own. Breed education provided for each puppy sold.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include chocolate, blue fawn, and chocolate sabled fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Evelyn
Evelyn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 refundable deposit and between $600 - $1,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“All our puppies will come with AKC Registration. Pet puppies come with limited registration (no breeding rights). We also sell show puppies and mentor those new to the show world.”

Evelyn may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
