Meet the breeder

I'm Caitlin K., the breeder behind Kismet Mountain Koolies located in Colorado. Our dogs will be by your side as your adventure buddies, homestead helpers, or as your hobby sports teammate.

Q. & A. with Caitlin

  • Why did you start breeding?

Coming from a search and rescue background, I knew genetics were important. Being in the shelter world I saw mismatched pairs; dogs and their new owners struggling. As a trainer I began learning more about puppy development and I was hooked!
  • What makes your program special?

Koolies are a "do it all" kind of breed, and Ruh (Roo) has proven this to be true. She is currently training for conservation work, helping me around the ranch, and starting our career in sports (disc, rally, and herding) She's a social, stable delight. I look forward to pouring my passion into raising wonderful puppies.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
