Meet the breeder

I'm Francie S., the breeder behind Kristull Silken Windhounds located in Austin, TX. As the founder of the breed, we take huge pride in our Silken Windhounds and appreciate breeders who are the basis of any breed! We have bred Silken Windhounds since 1984. We take pride in selling our best dogs to new breeders to help continue the line, and we ensure to match each excellent puppy personality to wonderful pet homes!

Q. & A. with Francie

  • Why did you start breeding?

We owned, bred, and handled dogs under the Kristull Borzoi name for over 20 years, finishing well over 200 Championships, including going Best in Show on 3 different continents. We owned and bred the Top Winning Lure Coursing Borzoi in History for over 2 and a half years. Our dogs are behind many of the top Borzoi kennels today. When we had done everything we had desired, we decided to fulfill our dream to produce smaller Borzoi.
  • What makes your program special?

We founded the breed in 1984. Since then, we have been through the alphabet 4 times, usually selling the best of our dogs to new breeders. I am the evaluator to bring in new founder dogs through a very stringent Genetic Diversity Protocol. I have degrees in Genetics with minors in Anatomy & Physiology. I work with passion, heart, integrity, and truly want what's best for the Borzoi line.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
