Meet the breeder

I'm Olga O., the breeder behind Lagotto Illinois located in North Barrington, IL. The Lagotto is an extraordinary dog breed from the Romagna region of Italy. They are qualified as hunting dogs and water retrievers. The lagotto breed is an ancient breed which has existed for over 1000 years. These dogs are very cute and special dogs, perfect for any family. These dogs love water, and would be more than greatful to play all day. We have 12 acres of land, which is a great play area for our dogs. Every day we take them out to play on a field, where they swim and run about. We often take them fishing, sometimes they cruise along on our boat, which also leaves us no choice but to give them some of our fish! Our dogs spend about 4-5 hours outside every day. They get the best food, which is a combination of organic raw meat with royale canin dry food.

Q. & A. with Olga

  • Why did you start breeding?

As soon as I layed my eyes on the lagotto breed, I fell in love with them, and decided I would start breeding them myself. My friend is a vet, and also breeds dogs. Over the years, she has helped me understand lots of things about breeding dogs, and after my past dog breeds, I decided I wanted change, and started breeding lagottos.
  • What makes your program special?

My dogs are very special to me, and they are very affectionate. I put all my time and effort into raising healthy, happy and amazing dogs. They get the best food, shelter and care from my family. They are also very beautiful and rare, the lagotto breed cannot be easily found in the USA.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
