Lakehouse Porties

Shelly C.

Breeder of Portuguese Water Dogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Shelly C., the breeder behind Lakehouse Porties located in Liberty Lake, WA. We spend countless hours providing each puppy we bring into this world with the fundamental basics for the best start in life. We love our pups very much and could not imagine life without them. We believe in open communication with our future puppy parents and do our best to help your puppy have a healthy, happy start in life!

Q. & A. with Shelly

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our “empty nester” plans drastically changed to “family phase 2” plans. We decided we needed to invest in a new family member, a puppy. I knew this time around we needed a pet that would love kids, water, and being active. We also preferred low to no shedding. I started researching and came across the Portie (Portuguese Water Dog). We fell in love with our dogs and knew we wanted to share them with others.
  • What makes your program special?

We have loved learning about this breed and have amazing mentors helping us on this journey. We are excited to continue to learn and to help this breed by carefully planning and screening the dogs as well as prospective homes to provide healthy, happy forever family members.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
