Meet the breeder

I'm the breeder behind Lane’s Little Longhairs located in Chino Valley, AZ. Welcome to Lane’s Little Longhairs – located in beautiful Chino Valley, Arizona. I’m a small hobby breeder with a big passion for producing healthy, well-tempered dogs with exceptional genetics. My love for animals, especially dogs, began when I was a little girl. In 2005, I was blessed with the opportunity to work in the veterinary field as a Technician Assistant, allowing me to combine my passion with my career. Over my 16 years in veterinary medicine, I gained extensive knowledge about different breeds—their personalities, unique traits, and the genetic conditions they can face. While I adore all dogs, my heart was especially captured by Standard Poodles, Long-Haired Chihuahuas, and Long-Haired Dachshunds. Working in a veterinary hospital specializing in canine reproduction gave me valuable insight into the importance of breeding responsibly. I learned how critical it is to focus on health, temperament, and preserving the qualities that make each breed so special. Every sire and dam in my program is health-tested through Embark Vet for breed-specific genetic conditions. Our dogs are part of the family, living in our home and enjoying daily love, care, and attention. Puppies are raised in a stimulating environment, well-socialized, and handled every day to prepare them for happy, confident lives with their future families. Breeding is not just what I do—it’s my way of giving back to the breeds I adore by raising healthy, well-rounded companions for others to love.

Q. & A. with Vikki

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into breeding began long before I ever had my first litter—it started in childhood, with an endless love for animals. Growing up, I was the kind of child who could never walk past a dog without stopping to say hello. I dreamed of one day working with animals, and in 2005, that dream came true when I began working as a Veterinary Technician Assistant
  • What makes your program special?

For me, breeding is more than a profession—it’s a calling rooted in a lifelong love of animals, years of veterinary experience, and a commitment to raising healthy, joyful companions for others to love
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Dachshund puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Chihuahua puppies have long coats. Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
