I'm Legendary M., the breeder behind Legendary Mastiffs located in Milwaukee, WI. We strive to produce outstanding puppies. Our main priorities are health and temperament, and we focus on quality over quantity. We are very dedicated to what we do and what we are trying to achieve as breeders. We work with passion, heart, and integrity, and we truly want what's best for the Mastiff line.
Q. & A. with Legendary
Why did you start breeding?
Purposeful and ethical breeding is so important for the healthy progression of the Mastiff. I purchased my first Mastiff in 2017 and absolutely fell in love with the breed. I added a well-bred show quality foundation female to my pack, and the rest is history!
What makes your program special?
I am passionate about Mastiffs, and I am devoted to doing whatever I can to preserve, protect, and improve this incredible breed. I ensure that my breeding stock is fully healthy prior to breeding in order to produce quality puppies. Many of my dogs have become excellent show prospects, but all of them have become excellent family dogs and lifelong friends!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Legendary Mastiffs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Mastiffs.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Cystinuria Type 3, English Mastiff Type Risk Factor
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
