I'm Karen W., the breeder behind Lukos Portuguese Water Dogs located in California. Our dogs and pups are raised in our home and are loved as family. We strive to produce high-quality show prospects and companions. We enjoy training our dogs, competing in conformation shows, and spending lots of time with them doing a variety of other activities! We love our dogs dearly and are so proud of their accomplishments.

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up a home where my parents were preservation breeders of West Highland White Terriers. This gave me a passion to breed dogs with a purpose. I fell in love with Portuguese Water Dogs and wanted to share my passion about this breed.What makes your program special?
Our dogs are very well socialized, raised in our home. So much play time with people and other dogs within our home. I breed for temperament and health. I have the ability to groom your puppy prior to going home, including nails and coat.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
