Q. & A. with Nitya
Why did you start breeding?
Since a teenager I’ve wanted to be a breeder of Yorkies and have since added IGYs after meeting a local breeder where I fell in love with the breed. Working with local rescues and AKC events, I am able to meet a lot of animals lovers and also engage in friendly dog competitions, showing in conformation and agility trails like Fastcat and Dockdiving. Some of my best friends are all animal lovers.
What makes your program special?
My program is near and dear to my heart for my exceptional lineage and pedigree I am able to display in my animals. I do extensive health testing and have tested my patience to it’s limits in waiting for the perfect pup to be added to my program from other lines and breeders I admire. I stick closely to breed standard and look first and foremost at temperament in what should be the perfect dog.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Yorkshire Terrier puppies include tan and blue and gold. Italian Greyhound puppies include white and seal, seal, black, and white and blue fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Right from the beginning Nitya was quick with responding and communicating. She always kept us in the loop of what was going on. She also posted a lot of progress pictures and we got to see our puppy grow until it was time to get him. Nitya is very knowledgeable about the breed. This was our first dog together and she was very helpful with dog food recommendations and answering our questions.

We've been fortunate enough to be able to get two sweet iggies from Nitya. Our first puppy, now know as Rigatoni, is about two and a half years old now and the sweetest little man. Our most recent addition to our family, now known as Linguine, is equally as kind. For both dogs, they came out of their crate with what seemed like instant trust and love to give. You can tell by the way they warmed up to their new home and new paw-rents (sorry for the pun, but had to), that they came from a very cared for environment. They both came with medical documents and paperwork that displayed that Nitya went above and behind to ensure their health but also safety since they needed to be flown over to where they live now. If I ever find myself fortunate enough to be able to occupy a larger space with a yard, I'd be getting a third.

All I have to say is NITYA IS FABULOUS! She’s kind and generous with her time. In the beginning I had so many questions and she answered them all without hesitation. Once I selected a dog we talked about scheduling the hand off with so much detail and ease. After meeting in the airport I really understood how passionate she was about all animals and just how much of a big heart she has. I’ve had my girl Ripley for almost 5 months and I couldn’t be happier.
