I'm Brenda P., the breeder behind Makindu Basenjis located in Renton, WA. My dogs are family, first and foremost. I make sure that they are healthy to ensure my puppies will live a long, happy life. My dogs work hard, play hard, love hard, and continuously bring a smile to my face.
Q. & A. with Brenda
Why did you start breeding?
I fell in love with the Basenji breed while watching them perform at the Westminster dog show. I quickly learned about their nature and personality and knew I was up for the challenge. My Basenjis have taken me on so many adventures and introduced me to performance outlets such as agility, lure coursing, and racing. These dogs are truly remarkable and I take great pride and joy from training them.
What makes your program special?
I truly love the Basenji breed and am dedicated to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament and conformation of my puppies. After 25 years of raising, training, and loving this breed, I know what it takes to find a loving home that will provide them with proper training and enrichment.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
