I'm Amanda R., the breeder behind Mancandy German Shorthairs located in Shevlin, MN. Owning a GSP has been a wonderful experience for us. “Schatzi” is certainly outgoing and appears to take pride in making her rounds around the property. She carries herself with grace and elegance and is such a pleasure to watch. Her calm demeanor is an asset to our breeding program it is such an honor to preserve the line of these incredible dogs all the while creating companionship for others. This is where amazing temperament, intelligence, and beauty meet!
Q. & A. with Amanda
Why did you start breeding?
I started out raising English Mastiffs in 1996 and after 13 years decided to move to a smaller breed to show. After much research, I chose the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel as my next breed, and along the way I also came to be owned by a french Bulldog and a German Shorthair Pointer. All of my dogs are companions before they are show dogs.
What makes your program special?
We live in the country and allow our dogs to run our five fenced acres to build muscle and maintain strong toned bodies. Our GSP had a calm demeanor and is friends with everyone she meets. Our puppies are raised in our home, under foot and are given constant attention. We bred to a Versatile Hunting Champion, and expect these puppies to be smart and confident.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver roan and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
