I'm Melissa W., the breeder behind Melissa's Portuguese Water Dogs located in Colorado Springs, CO. We are not a breeding program, but rather a family with a PWD that has a LONG line of Best of Breed and Best in Show ancestors. She is a direct descendant form "Luck be a Lady" AKA LadyBug, one of the winningest female PWD's of all time. The sire for this litter is equally as impressive.

Why did you start breeding?
What makes your program special?
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Where do your breeding dogs live?

These dogs are already reserved or have gone home.

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Melissa partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We have a questionnaire all prospective families will fill out. Based on that as well as my personal interactions with the families learning their wants/needs in a puppy, will determine which puppy will fit which family the best. We will meet with EVERY family that will be getting a puppy IN PERSON. And if in person is not an option, we will REQUIRE a virtual meet and greet at minimum.”

“The price includes the guarantee, AKC Registration, first round of vaccines, deworming(if needed), microchipping and puppy socialization detailed. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size.”
Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Melissa offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Melissa directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

About Birdie
Birdie is the sweetest girl you could EVER ask for! Our dam comes from an outstanding lineage that includes one of the most accomplished female Portuguese Water Dogs in breed history, Aviators Luck be a Lady (LadyBug). Although Birdie's never been shown herself, she carries forward generations of proven quality. With all recommended breed-specific health clearances, excellent structure, a stable, affectionate temperament, and exceptional intelligence, she provides an outstanding foundation for this carefully planned litter.
