Meet the breeder

I'm Jaclyn H., the breeder behind Moen Lake Dalmatians located in Rhinelander, WI. We are dedicated to breeding purebred Dalmatians whose health and temperament are true to the standard. Our dogs are extensively health and DNA tested. We also believe the motto of a responsible breeder of purebred dogs is, "BREED TO IMPROVE." We focus on choosing Dalmatians whose bloodlines will strengthen weaknesses and emphasize good qualities. We also emphasize the placement of puppies in responsible homes. We look forward to connecting with you! https://www.moenlakedalmatians.com.

Q. & A. with Jaclyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our first Dalmatian was purchased deaf, and we soon fell in love with this extraordinary breed. We are on a mission to eradicate deafness and the HUA (High Uric Acid) gene that our first male Dalmatian (Ace Frehley) has to live with. Ace needed a companion, so we got Chaz who is a LUA (Low Uric Acid) Dalmatian. Two years later, we got our princess, Xena, who is also a LUA, and it was an easy decision to breed!
  • What makes your program special?

We are all in when it comes to our dogs and puppies. All of our dogs sleep with us every night, are fed a great diet, and get lots of daily exercise. We so love them! They are OFA CHIC certified with extensive DNA and health testing done regularly. Our puppies are hand raised with love and puppy culture. We are committed to every puppy in our litters for its entire life span for advice or support.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
