Mount Ruckus Kennels

Megan M.

Breeder of American Bullies

Meet the breeder

I'm Megan M., the breeder behind Mount Ruckus Kennels located in Signal Mountain, TN. I own, handle, train, and breed here at MRK’s. I strive to provide healthy, stable, functional, driven, confident, eager-to-please, fully health tested, and potential sporting or working dogs. We test using Pennhip, OFA, and PawPrint Genetic testing and test whole litters. I am extremely passionate about my program and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I look forward to connecting with you!

Q. & A. with Megan

  • Why did you start breeding?

My father was a breeder and it’s in my blood. I have always been around dogs, and I couldn’t imagine life without a dog in it or without a puppy running around. This time around, I do not want to just be breeding beautiful functioning dogs, but strive to also make a positive change and influence in the Bully community by fully health testing and proving my breeding stock through canine sporting events.
  • What makes your program special?

We start our breeding program by fully health testing our stock with Pennhip/OFA/PawPrint Genetics. Our dogs' hips are scored through Pennhip and OFA. We also do OFA elbows, shoulders, cardiac, thyroid, and CERF (Eyes). We test through PawPrints Genetic screening for the American Bully. We use science-based puppy rearing protocols using Puppy Culture and we are one of the only breeders that genetic screen and do OFA cardiac prelims. We work with passion, heart, and integrity, and we truly want what's best for the American Bully line!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include lilac, red brindle, liver, fawn sable, fawn, brown, blue fawn, and blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
