About Sookie
Sookie is from our Avatar litter of 2021. I call Sookie my easy keeper. She LOVES food, never met a stranger, and gets along with other dogs and cats. Quiet and calm, she barks only when warranted. However, she can not be trusted with other creatures. She finds playing with chickens, rabbits, squirrels, and even bugs one of her all-time favorite sports. She hunts them down like a big cat. Sookie is a lovely dark gray brindle in color (the hallmark color for the breed). Sookie has a very nice course coat of medium length. Built soundly with appealing, moderate angulation. Generous bone and substance she has lovely reach and drive. Were very proud of Sookie's accomplishments in the conformation ring. Initially slow to mature, and not ready to take things too seriously. She decided in early February of this year (2024) to settle down and was serious competition. Earning her Championship in February and her Grand Championship in September, competing once a month. Since I'm bragging about her. In April this year (2024) we attended IWCA National held at Purina Farms MO. There were 400 Irish Wolfhounds entered from all across the US and Canada. Sookie was awarded the 3rd award of merit and stood alongside 6 other hounds being recognized with awards out of 400. We are looking forward to this planned litter. Can't wait to have puppies underfoot and puppy breath.
