I'm Mark & Mae J., the breeder behind Nemaha Valley Farms located in Sterling, NE. If you prefer a companion dog we can add in leash training and the beginnings of potty training. We got our first pyrenees almost 10 years ago and fell in love. In addition to guarding our goats, they made themselves part of our family. We are so happy to be able to share that with others.

Why did you start breeding?
Like many before us, eventually, we wanted to share the pyrenees breed with others. We breed slowly, about once a year and have no desire to produce at a higher rate as this gives us time to work with each of the litters.What makes your program special?
While we keep only purebred adults, we do not paper our puppies. Papered purebreds really cost a premium and while we don't have a problem with that, its not our niche. Our desire is to provide pyrenees to families at a more "everyman" price.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
