I'm Raylene M., the breeder behind Northland Boerboels located in Wasilla, AK. Puppies available now! Our primary goal is to produce sound dogs in temperament, health and structure. We love this breed and our dogs are a huge part of our family. Being able to educate others about the breed and provide them with the same joy of owning a Boerboel is my passion in life.

Program update on 14 July •…Puppies had their first shots on Friday and got another round of de-worming. They met a few great local families this weekend and we are waiting to see which family pics which puppy to see who’s still available.

Litter update on 29 June •…They don’t seem to mind the sound so far! We’re working on acclimating them to a variety of noises—gunshots, fire alarms, children playing, vacuums, banging pots, fireworks, thunderstorms, and more. Early exposure to these common sounds helps lay the foundation for a confident, well-adjusted dog that isn’t anxious or fearful in everyday environments.

Program update on 29 June •…Puppies are now four weeks old and have started sound desensitization! We have a playlist that we play for them while they are doing fun things, socializing, playing eating, etc. to desensitize them to common noises that caused stress and anxiety in dogs. It really helps making them bombproof!

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Wisdom Panel, Optimal Selection Genetic Disease Analysis (180+ Diseases)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
