I'm Kathy & Melissa B., the breeder behind Northstar Chihuahuas located in Brook Park, MN. I am retired and live with my daughter and since retirement have time to spend with our babies! They are part of our family, actually they rule the house!

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My parents bred chihuahuas and I always wanted to, but wanted to wait until I retired, so I had the time to care for my babies.

  • What makes your program special?

    We have 3 females that have been raised in our home. They have full run of the house; they are our everything. Each puppy that is born here is handled, loved and is well socialized from the time they are born until the day they go home with you.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include fawn and white and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Dalmatian Type, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, DNA Disease Panel, DNA Profile, DNA Coat/Trait Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Kathy and Melissa are a dream to work with.
