Meet the breeder

I'm Sierra C., the breeder behind Nosam Kennels- Hungarian Vizslas, and German Shorthairs Located in Kentucky located in Greensburg, KY. Nosam Kennels proudly produces German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs) and Hungarian Vizslas, bred for both performance in the field and companionship at home. Founded in 2014, we are a small family-operated kennel driven by a passion for versatile hunting dogs. Our mission is straightforward: to preserve and enhance the qualities of these remarkable breeds while raising dogs that excel as both family companions and hunting partners. We are committed to maintaining a high-standard breeding program that produces healthy, structurally sound dogs with natural hunting ability, excellent temperaments, and a love for family life. Every dog we breed is carefully selected.

Q. & A. with Sierra

  • Why did you start breeding?

We acquired our first Vizsla in 2013 and fell in love with the breed. Their energy level matched our active outdoor lifestyle, and we developed a passion for the breed. We loved hunting with them and wanted to be able to provide other families with healthy puppies. We later added the GSP and haven't looked back.
  • What makes your program special?

Our goal is to maintain a high-standard breeding program resulting in dogs free from health problems, with solid structures, full of natural ability, love to hunt, and are wonderful family pets. We are avid hunters, and our dogs are proven in the field, hunted over, and are cherished family pets. We compete in several performance events with our dogs to prove their versatility. From AKC hunt tests, NAVHDA, Dock Diving, Fast Cat, UKC Conformation, and more.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Vizsla puppies are golden rust. German Shorthaired Pointer puppies include white and liver, liver, black and white, black roan, liver and white, liver roan, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

We feel that this method provides the best chance of success in matching each client with the best possible dog for them. We select puppies for clients because we want you to be happy with your dog! We will send frequent photos/videos throughout development. Nosam reserves the right to first pick on all litters”

All went smoothly. The love they have for their dogs is evident and they do the little things in training their puppies before they are sent home with you. This is making housebreaking and crate training MUCH easier. We brought Hali home 6 days ago and she is a beauty. Vizslas are energetic and she needs her play time and stimulation. But she also needs her rest and likes nothing more than to snuggle up next to her new human family:). What a perfect peanut we have.

Sierra was a pleasure to work with. I have the most wonderful, healthy and kind demeanor GSP.
