I'm Carolyn W., the breeder behind Nytewind Mastiffs located in Oak Grove, KY. I breed Mastiffs to improve the quality of the breed and to offer service dogs to people like myself. I carefully produce each litter with a focus on health, genetics, temperament, and conformation. I strive for quality and excellence with everything that I do. Holding myself to high standards is paramount to the well-being of my dogs and to the integrity of my program! I look forward to connecting with you!
Q. & A. with Carolyn
Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to breed Collies because I fell in love with my dog Lassie when I was growing up. I ended up running into a Mastiff at the local Humane Society, and my mom got him for me. This dog, Sam, taught me responsibility. Along the way, I have met a lot of breeders and trainers who have all given me valuable experiences working with the dogs. I look forward to applying my valuable knowledge and expertise to my program!
What makes your program special?
I will not produce any litter without adequate health testing. I do not believe in accidents, and no breeding takes place without researching the lines and genetic health testing. Once a litter is on the ground, each puppy is bred, raised, and loved indoors to ensure health, happiness, and harmony at the start of its life. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I made a positive contribution to these dogs and the families who love them!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include apricot, fawn, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
