I'm Stephanie O., the breeder behind Odom's Teddy Manor located in Maylene, AL. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. Our hope is to prepare each of our puppies with thoughtful socialization so they have the best foundation to seamlessly transition into their new homes.
Q. & A. with Stephanie
Why did you start breeding?
I grew up around breeding dogs, and then as a teen and young adult spent time helping others whelp puppies and fostering orphaned litters. All of this solidified my love of breeding to better a breed, in all ways, and made me want to join the GOOD breeders out there. I only want to produce dogs that are excellent for the breed, and help it live on in better ways.
What makes your program special?
This is something we do for the love of the breed, not for the monetary benefits. We have spent a lot of money on dog events, health testing, and everything in between, so by the time the puppies go home, we will not be "rich" in anything but puppy love! Meera is our dog first and foremost. If she has struggles with pregnancy/whelping, this will be her only litter. Her health and happiness is key!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and chocolate, white and blue, white and apricot, chocolate and white, blue and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Meera
Meera is an all-around happy dog, who LOVES to chase and run wild, but is more than happy to have a lazy day on the couch with her people. Last year we tried out FastCAT, and she earned her first title in it that very same weekend! Meera was the 2nd overall Teddy in FastCAT last year, but the number one 1 female! We love making weekend trips taking her to events (she is also dabbling in CAT now), but first and foremost she is our sweet Meera. The hardest thing we've had to overcome with her, is her need to jump vertically anytime she is happy! She knows to not jump on people, so she will either bring you a toy or stand a few feet away and just jump straight up. It is hilarious, and I am very thankful that she has not realized she could jump onto the kitchen table if she wanted to. I'm not sure that she has met a human she did not immediately love, no matter their age. We could not ask for an easier dog, and we cannot wait to see these puppies arrive and grow up into lovely little teddies!
Excellent health testing
Patellar Luxation, Primary Lens Luxation (PLL), +2 more.
Parent health testing
Breeder-Reported Testing
Great level
Odom's Teddy Manor reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Teddy Roosevelt Terriers.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel, Primary Lens Luxation (PLL)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
