I'm Elizabeth H., the breeder behind Onyx Retrievers located in Williston, VT. We’re an ethical, in-home AKC GSP breeding family in Vermont. Since 2018, we’ve placed 75+ healthy, well-socialized puppies with no reported health issues. Our dogs are pets first. Raised in our home, our puppies get constant care, love, and enrichment from day one.

Why did you start breeding?
We got into breeding because we love our dogs—and we love puppies. Our passion for German Shorthaired Pointers grew naturally, and with my vet tech background and lifelong love of animals, it just made sense. We do this occasionally as a family because it’s joyful, meaningful, and deeply rewarding.What makes your program special?
We raise our AKC GSP puppies in our home, starting in our master bathroom, then transitioning to a custom indoor/outdoor kennel. Our dogs are pets first, and we breed occasionally to give each pup the love, time, and socialization they deserve. Since 2018, we’ve placed 75+ healthy puppies with no reported issues.Where do your breeding dogs live?

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Elizabeth partners with them to find the best puppy match.

About Charlie
Charlie is a wonderful, energetic, and lovable dog who is “attached at the hip” to his human dad, Arthur. He loves to play fetch with a chuck-it toy—especially because it means he gets to run and run. When he’s not chasing a ball, he’s snuggling with Arthur or relaxing with his best friend, Evie. Charlie has a beautiful liver roan coat with spots. He is AKC registered, show quality, and hails from Pennsylvania. We own both the mother and father, and they are first and foremost our pets and companions. They sleep in our room every night and hate to be apart from their humans—or each other.

About Evie
Evie is a smart and cheerful dog who loves to run and sneak onto the couch or into your bed. Her favorite game is "keep away" where she grabs Charlie's ball and runs off with it trying to get him to chase her (he chases her every time). She is a wonderful companion and mother to her puppies. Evie has a beautiful black roan coat with spots. She is AKC registered and show quality. She hails from Tennessee. We own both the mother and the father, and they are first and foremost our pets and companions. They sleep in our room with us every night and hate to be apart from their humans or each other.
