I'm Barbara M., the breeder behind Pampered Chihuahuas located in Palm Coast, FL. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! Our puppies become integral members of our family. They’re a daily part of everything we do until they’re ready to join their forever families. At Pampered Chihuahuas we have been building our reputation as a trusted Dog Breeder in North Florida since we bred our first dogs back in 1990. We take our responsibilities very seriously and strive to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all of our pets. That's why the happiest days for us are when one or our puppies is adopted by a loving and welcoming family. We have been breeding since 1990, with a focus on making the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible. We strive to breed the best Chihuahuas we can according to the AKC standards. We also focus on educating their new owners to ensure these precious creatures get the LOVE, CARE and ATTENTION they deserve. Contact us to find out more about our methods and philosophy. To us, being a Ethical Breeder means everything. We call it breeding with a Purpose. Here at Pampered Chihuahuas we put the health of the dogs before anything else. We do extensive health screening and testing of all of our Mommy and Daddy dogs, to ensure we are only producing healthy happy puppies. Temperament is our next focal point, it is extremely important to us that our dogs have outgoing, friendly dispositions. Our dogs are bred for conformation/companionship and they are raised in our home with other dogs and are part of our family. We absolutely LOVE our little Chihuahuas and we know that you will too.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I purchased my two females from a AKC Judge of Merit. Both females and the stud dog came from four generations of Champion Bloodline.

  • What makes your program special?

    My females and stud dog have the most lovable personalities. Their puppies have been of beautiful colors and marking. I only breed Champion bloodlines. I do not in-breed, line breed and do not breed Merle. My programs goal is to "breed to improve" (health, temperament, structure), not just to produce puppies. DNA testing on sire and dam. Puppies are raised inside my home with very early stimulation program starting at 3 weeks of age. Puppies are socialized daily with people and other dogs to ensure they are well-adjusted. I provide a "OFFICIAL CERTIFICATE OF VETERINARY INSPECTION FOR INTRASTATE SALE OF A DOG" at eight weeks of age with the first round of shots. I offer lifetime support. Puppies are health guaranteed for one year against any congenital defects. I am committed to supporting you and the dog for its entire life. To ensure a good match, I have some questions I ask all potential owners. Are you available for a brief phone call to discuss your lifestyle and expectations? I also have a Vet. Tech. who transports my puppies from my home to yours, her name is Ashley. Her phone number is 317-772-4335. Transportation is paid by the buyer.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have long coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include gold and white, black and tan, silver and white, fawn and white, and cream and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Barbara

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Barbara partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $5,000 - $14,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes the AKC limited registration, 1st round of vaccinations, worming if needed and Certificate of Health from a Vet. from the State of Florida. Starter kit includes, toys, food, blanket and a stuffed toy puppy that has a warmer and heartbeat. Please do not just put in an application, please call first so that I can answer all of your questions. All of our puppies are the price listed. Sometimes the price of the Puppy before being reserved will increase based on their development, coloring, markings and show quality in accordance with the AKC standards. Chihuahuas can change color and markings up to two years. No color is guaranteed to stay the same. If any information on the application is false the seller has the right to decline the application. We want our puppies to have the best home possible.”

    Barbara is a great breeder and person to work with. She is very knowledgeable about Chihuahuas and answered every question that I had about them. I feel it’s important before you purchase a puppy to see pictures of the mother and father and their papers so you know exactly what you are getting in a pup. All was provided for me. She let me visit the puppies when we asked which was such a treat! They were all adorable and I wanted to take them all home. The hygiene of the pen was impeccable which keeps the puppies healthy. Barbara loves all of her chihuahuas and treats them so well. If anyone is interested in purchasing a beautiful chihuahua, Barbara is the perfect breeder.     Barbara was wonderful! It’s clear she really cares about all of the pups in her care and knows so much about the breed. We had a lovely experience adopting our sweet pup from her and he has been the biggest blessing ever since! She was patient with us when we had some technical issues and sent us off with our puppy’s new favorite thing to snuggle. She did a great job preparing our sweet pup for a new family and for leaving his old friends. Even made sure his blanket smelled like his family, we think it definitely helped with his transition to a new place!     We lost one of our beloved babies right before Christmas and wanted to find another sweet little baby. I searched for weeks and finally came across Barbara's information. At first site, we fell in love with little "Precious." I got in touch with Barbara and she graciously allowed us to visit her home and see the three litters she had. Oh, my, what beautiful babies! We wanted to take several home with us. Reggie was a favorite and we would have taken two, if we didn’t already have another older baby at home. However, we had set our sights on Precious, because she was so much like two of our other previous babies. We had to wait for a few weeks until she could leave, but the wait was worth it. Barbara was so easy to work with and she was full of good information. Our new addition to the family is so much fun. She loves everyone who visits, including our son's dogs and chases around after them. She is bright (learning commands) and playful, keeping us on our toes. If you are looking for your forever friend, you can't go wrong working with Barbara or selecting one of her beautiful puppies. We changed her name to Muffin for a silly reason. Our other dog is named "Clarice" and with "Precious" we would have two dogs named after "Silence of the Lambs"!! The name change didn't really work, because as soon as anyone sees her, they say, "Precious!"

    Barbara was wonderful to work with. Once I reserved my baby Barbara kept in touch with me sending pictures and videos while answering my questions via text. I got to watch my little one from days old until her release. Barbara is a loving, caring breeder who is particular about who she sells her puppies to. A quality I appreciated. They are ALL her babies and she treats them as such until they’re not. She has a lot of experience and happy to share it with her buyers during and after the sale.
