Miriam D.

Breeder of Vizslas

Meet the breeder

I'm Miriam D., the breeder behind Pantana Kennels located in Ivanhoe, NC. We offer top-quality Vizslas, who are first and foremost family companions. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament above all else. We also strive for conformationally correct, athletic, and intelligent dogs - the truly versatile Vizsla. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful, healthy companions!

Q. & A. with Miriam

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband was the one to get me into Vizslas. Our first Vizsla was Charles and from the moment he came home I knew there would always be Vizslas in our home. I started showing conformation with Charles and just fell deeper in love with the Vizsla breed. That’s when I knew I needed to dedicate my life to this breed. I wanted to breed to create amazing, healthy Vizslas and improve the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

My ultimate goal is to achieve the truly versatile Vizsla. Health is our number one priority, we want to produce the healthiest puppies we can. Temperament is another important focus to us. We want a Vizsla who’s willing to work, but also settle in the house at the end of the day. Our Vizslas should be amazing family companions, who can do everything their family wants to do.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
