I'm Melanie M., the breeder behind Pine Barren Griffons located in Lemon Grove, CA. My husband and I love this breed and do everything we can to help it thrive. We give each of our puppies the best possible start. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we put our heart and soul into their development. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience.
Q. & A. with Melanie
Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with the incredible Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed.
Along the way with confirmation shows and hunt test, we have met incredible people and their Griffs. They have inspired us to go even further and create our own breeding program. With emphasis on keeping the breed as special and unique as was designed.
What makes your program special?
We believe that the breeds health, temperament, and drive are top priorities to preserve. They are an extraordinary sporting dog that excels outdoors and in the home. We believe in doing everything that we can to help the breed thrive in all aspects. The Griff is a big part of our heart and hopefully some day yours as well!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include white and brown, chestnut and gray, and brown and gray. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
