I'm Samantha J., the breeder behind Point Hope's Sublime Dalmatians located in Independence, VA. We understand the importance of solid foundations and health test our lines to ensure we are breeding to the standards you expect. We are dedicated to raising the bar for thoughtful breeding with optimal health in mind. We do our best to produce puppies that have the best chance at living long, happy, and healthy lives as your best friend! Our puppies are raised by our family on our farm with our kiddos, dogs, cats, and cattle. We pour out hearts into our animals. We are not a mill or a large scale breeding operation, our dogs are our family. They are in and out all day living what we hope to be their best lives.
Q. & A. with Samantha
Why did you start breeding?
I rescued my first Dalmatian and fell in love with the breed. Most of the Dalmatians I had been around were aggressive prior to my rescue. I wanted to change the bad reputation that Dalmatians often have. My dogs were chosen for not only health but personally as well. We raise well rounded and well socialized puppies.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
