I'm Debra D., the breeder behind Pony Trail Farm located in Nicholson, GA. Our goal is to produce pups of sound mind and body with great dispositions able to transition well from the farm to home life. We decided to start a responsible, in-home breeding program in order to produce quality farm dogs that also fit into a home setting. We focus on breeding dogs that have enough drive on the farm to keep up with our lifestyle, but also have amazing temperaments and can quickly adapt to a calm family setting.

Getting a puppy from Debra
Debra has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,200 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration, health & orthopedic warranties, veterinary exams, first vaccines and dewormings, and health certificate if needed. Deposit is nonrefundable but may be moved to next available litter for up to 12 months if a medical issue arises with your pup or we are notified of change in plans by time pup reaches 6 weeks of age.”
Contract & health guarantee
Debra may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Roger comes from a combination of working livestock guardians and champion show lines. He has proven himself to be a dedicated livestock guardian, and has a wonderful temperament, both with people and animals. He has badger markings. He is Embark DNA tested "CLEAR" for genetic health issues common to Great Pyrenees, and is OFA "Good" for hips, "Normal" for elbows, shoulders, & patellas.

Maggie is solid white, daughter of Charlie. She has an outgoing and cheerful personality, and is another excellent livestock guardian. Maggie has OFA "GOOD" on hips and "NORMAL" on shoulders, elbows, patella, and cardiac exam. Maggie is Embark tested and is paired with Roger (CLEAR). They will not produce puppies At Risk for genetic diseases.

Victoria is the daughter of Charlie and Isabella. She looks like a younger version of her mom, including the same bold "eyeliner" and coloring on the ears. She has a sweet personality, is excellent with goats and has good manners with children. She is Embark tested "CLEAR" for genetic health issues common to Great Pyrenees. Victoria is OFA "GOOD" on hips, "NORMAL" on shoulders and elbows.

Charlie was Xrayed for OFA, and scored "EXCELLENT" on hips, "Normal" on shoulders and elbows. He stays lean and muscular from activity. He is about 115 lbs. While Embark tested "Clear" for most genetic health issues, Charlie tested "Carrier" (Not Affected) for CMR1. He is paired with females who are "Clear" for the condition in order to produce unaffected litters.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Shoulder Osteochondrosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia, Great Pyrenees Type, Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
