I'm Carole K., the breeder behind Possum Creek Basenjis located in Paris, KY. I offer quality Basenji puppies. My dogs are excellent representations of the breed, and I am proud to continue their line. I take responsible breeding very seriously, and I'm thorough in health testing and caring for my dogs. I make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual attention that it needs to thrive, and I do all that I can to prepare them for their future roles and families.
Q. & A. with Carole
Why did you start breeding?
I was raised on a farm and it just followed when I got involved in showing. I do not advertise my puppies or breedings as our litters are normally small (average 4 puppies) and after keeping for myself the others are already spoken for by repeat owners, folks referred to me by word of mouth, or fellow breeders.
What makes your program special?
I was one of the first people in my breed to include the newer African imports in my breeding program and have continued to utilize these bloodlines/genetics throughout the years. I have bred/shown one of my breeds a few groups placing 1/2 Africans and I have been told that she is the only Basenji with that high percentage of the new African lines to progress through 3 cuts of bitches during BOB judging at a National Specialty. I look forward to working with you!
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
