Q. & A. with Pauline
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding under my Presidio PWDs kennel name in 1991 in San Francisco, California. My most famous dog to date is Dutch (Presidio Dutch of Alto Mare), the PWD who worked the World Trade Center with his owner Connie Millard for 100 days after 9/11. After a long breeding hiatus and a move to Alexandria, Virginia, I revived my Presidio breeding program in 2018. I am also an attorney.
What makes your program special?
Quality! Since I breed infrequently and very selectively, I breed only when I see an extraordinary opportunity to preserve the best breed traits and to improve the overall quality of the breed. I am proud of my foundation bitch's Pouch Cove heritage, which continues in my new line of Presidio Champions.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brown and white, black and white, black, and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
