I'm Crystal B., the breeder behind PurpleSage Icelandics located in Gillette, WY. We are dedicated to producing healthy, happy Icelandic Sheepdog puppies! Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and conformation . We enjoy doing a variety of activities with our dogs and raise our puppies with that goal in mind. Happy, healthy, well socialized pups that are eager to learn.
Q. & A. with Crystal
Why did you start breeding?
I started in pomeranians and discovered Icelandic sheepdogs at a dog show. I fell in love with this medium size spitz breed that was sturdier and healthier than the poms that I loved so much. They were also easier to groom and loved training and participating in the variety of dog sports that I enjoy.
What makes your program special?
We follow puppy culture and begin training before they leave. The puppies have lots of novel experiences. I introduce them to nosework, agility, and barnhunt. They go swimming and they get to go on field trips. They learn to walk on leash, sleep in crates, and ride nicely in the car before heading to new homes. We want our puppies to be as successful as possible in their new homes and future lives and encourage new owners to continue their training and socialization to help their puppy bond with them and continue to be a happy, well-adjusted member of the family.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
