I'm Ana M., the breeder behind Red Iron Bullies located in Lake Stevens, WA. My breeding program focuses on health, breed standard and temperament. I am striving to create the perfect American Bully. All my puppies are socialized using Early Neurological Stimulation and Puppy Culture. They are well adjusted and prepared for a life with you!

Why did you start breeding?
I was introduced to the breed in 2012 and fell in love. I had no idea what I was doing when I purchased my first American Bully and made the mistake of ordering a puppy online. She is a beautiful dog that still lives with me today, but she has hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, cardiac issues, and horrible allergies. In light of finding out how bad her health was, I have pushed for a healthier breed!What makes your program special?
American Bullies that are health tested, titled, and fit the breed standard are incredibly rare. Our breed was founded on untested stock. My goal is to spread the word about health issues, and try to positively influence the breed as a whole. Another problem with the breed is that most breeders only care about money, they sell all their puppies to be bred. I do not encourage this.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

It went fairly well. We are absolutely happy with our purchase of our American Bully pup. He has a first vet appointment with his new veterinarian and we will be following up with that. Our American Bully pup has really become part of our family and brings us great joy. Red Iron Bullys pups are gorgeous.
