Meet the breeder

I'm Kathryn H., the breeder behind Regalant Silken Windhounds located in Michigan. I enjoy doing a wide variety of activities with my silkens, and I breed dogs that I would like to own. This means dogs with lure drive and who enjoy being active. My adults have enjoyed agility, lure coursing, nosework, trick training, and rally obedience, and I aim to produce at least some sports prospects with each litter. I believe silkens are more successful in these activities when they are healthy and accurate representatives of the breed standard, so conformation and health feature heavily in my breeding decisions. My goal is to breed functional silkens that are happy, healthy, and beautiful.

Q. & A. with Kathryn

  • Why did you start breeding?

I love this breed so much, and they've put so much joy in my life. I started breeding to give back to the breed and the breed community.
  • What makes your program special?

I am a new breeder, and I am always trying to learn and improve. I have a number of breed mentors and participate actively in our breed community. I breed silkens I want to own, and I tend more toward the higher-energy, sassier silkens. As a breeder, I also want to create and maintain lifelong relationships with my puppy buyers.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
