Q. & A. with John
Why did you start breeding?
We fell in love with the Vizsla breed years ago—their energy, loyalty, and intelligence won us over. After bringing home our first Vizsla, we immersed ourselves in learning about the breed and connecting with reputable breeders. We started breeding to preserve the quality, health, and temperament we came to love.
What makes your program special?
Our puppies are raised in-home with constant interaction, early socialization, and exposure to real-world sights and sounds. We prioritize health, temperament, and pedigree—each litter comes from champion bloodlines and fully health-tested parents. Our goal is well-adjusted, confident puppies ready for life as companions or competitors.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Ducky
Ducky is 6 years old and although she has a couple extra white hairs she’s as crazy as ever. Sweet as could be, sassy, opinionated (ask her about her roo), intelligent and easily trainable, independent and driven in the field, then it’s curled up under the covers where she’s equally happy. Ducky is from Alpine Kennel, with field background and great temperaments. She’s a once in a life time pup, and we are hoping the girl we keep from this litter is half the dog she is.
River Falls Kennel reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Vizslas.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
