I found Beth on Good Dog when I was searching for a longcoat chihuahua in 2021. I wanted to add a female to our family but this time I was looking for a show potential dog (my first) and health, temperament and conformity to breed standards were all important to me. I sorted the website by “excellent breeders” only as wanted both parents of the puppy to have been health tested including eyes, patellas and heart for conditions found in chihuahuas and DNA genetic of both the sire and dam. And to be able to review these results prior to making a deposit. Which Beth provided and both had normal/ clear results.
In addition it was important that the breeder considered overall health, temperament and confirmatory to breed standards of the puppy.
Beth had posted prior litters with the same dam and sire which all looked fabulous and had healthy outcomes. She was living in Florida which seemed pretty far from California but offered a flight nanny or I could pick up a future puppy. She did not have any available puppies when I first spoke with her put kept in touch. When a litter came up she contacted me and they meet all my criteria so decided to go forward. It was a great decision. Beth was so nice to work with throughout the process and afterwards remained a mentor and was always there for me when I had questions.
There were six puppies in the litter. I was interested in a female show potential and there were three possibilities. I would have been happy with any of the them but had my two favorites, the black sables. Beth sent pictures and videos often along the way. After the final evaluation for show potential at around ten weeks I was offered Cinnamon my absolute favorite. I was super excited. When the flight nanny had a scheduling conflict, Beth delivered my puppy, who we named Scully, to us in San Francisco. Scully was great little traveler and exceeded our expectations in every way. It was great to have the time to visit with Beth in person and learn more.
Scully was a fun loving puppy and grew into beautiful young adult. She absolutely loves showing and is a quick learner. No matter what the outcome we have a blast together in the show ring. She has had some very nice wins at AKC conformation shows and is now an AKC Champion of recording with earned points towards her grand championship. She is an amazing companion and beloved family member, and is great with children and other dogs. She also is very healthy and has passed all her health screening tests which are done annually and submitted to OFA database. She has a great temperament, exceptionally smart, loving and just the right amount of sassy.
Throughout the process Beth has been there answering all of our questions and celebrating every win and milestone. I highly recommend her as a breeder. She has many years of experience, truly cares about dogs, a great mentor and committed to the betterment of breeds.
