Meet the breeder

I'm Ericka J., the breeder behind Royal Caucasian Shepherds ® located in Twining, MI. CO's like to "think", they are not a breed that will follow every command blindly and can be quite dominant in character. A Caucasian shepherd needs experienced owners, knowledgeable, responsible people that are looking for a family, property or livestock guardian. Well fenced property is a must.

Q. & A. with Ericka

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our first CO to protect our chickens. Then since we liked her so much we decided to get a male to see what type of size difference there was. Well our love for the breed just kind of grew from there. We didn’t originally plan on becoming a breeder, we just love the breed so much we wanted to share it with other qualified owners ❤️
  • What makes your program special?

Here at Royal Caucasian Shepherds we are dedicated to breeding puppies that are not only healthy and happy but also reflect the unique personality and character of the breed. We do look for the more mild mannered COs so we can hopefully breed a more family friendly home protector so they can do what they bred for but still be level headed and lovable. All our dogs are fully health tested.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include rust, red, gray, white, sable, grizzle, fawn, cream, black and gray, and agouti and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
