I'm Kelli L., the breeder behind Royal Hawaiian Aussies LLC located in Kamuela On The Big Island, HI. As a preservation breeder, I'm committed to preserving this amazing breed. All of my breeding dogs are extensively health tested and I prioritize the overall health and temperament of each of my puppies to ensure that they are loved and well cared for before joining their forever Ohana.

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up in Hawaii with Australian Shepherds and have owned Miniature American Shepherds since 2007. I have a lot of experience with this intelligent breed and love everything that this breed has to offer.What makes your program special?
Breeding healthy dogs and puppies is a lifestyle and large investment of time and money when done right in order to preserve and better the breed. My breeding dogs are temperament tested, mentally stable and sound, and have completed health clearances for OFA hips, elbows, patellas, and genetic DNA. I spend time planning every litter to produce healthy, happy and versatile puppies. I work with passion, heart, and integrity when helping puppy parents find the right match and I love keeping in touch and being a lifelong support for our extended puppy parent Ohana.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Kelli has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kelli partners with them to find the best puppy match.

The non-refundable reservation fee is designed to ensure serious inquiries and commitment from prospective buyers. Reserving a spot on the waitlist means other families may be turned away, so the policy is applied consistently to protect that process.”

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (Preliminary), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition, Temperament Test, Brucellosis
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC), Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Kelli at Royal Hawaiian Aussies is absolutely amazing! She’s easy to communicate with; being transparent and open from the get-go. Kelli makes bringing your furbaby home seamlessly easy! Our furbaby, Harley is just the best! Kelli puts in a lot of time, love and effort into her pups and her passion for them shows! Harley is confident, affectionate, smart not to mention the easiest puppy I have EVER owned. Kelli made the transition from breeder to forever home effortless. The knowledge she shares, basically sets you up for puppy success at home!! She also starts most of the basic training (potty, crate, leash-walking). All we had to do was provide LOVE & that we absolutely do!! Can you believe we actually got an entire nights sleep on the very first night- AMAZING! He has best appetite, not skipping a beat on meals! After 2 weeks home, he almost perfect on potty training too! He fit so perfectly into our family. I couldn’t ask for anything more!
